Downsview Airport, located in North York, ON, Canada.
Downsview Airport (CYZD) is a medium airport in North York, ON, Canada. It sits in North America.
Downsview Airport is a regional airport primarily serving general aviation, charter, and corporate flight departments.
Downsview Airport sits near sea level at 652 ft.
Local operations run on America/Toronto. Without scheduled airline traffic, the field tends to be quieter and more flexible for charter and corporate operations — a useful characteristic for early morning, late night, or short-notice flights that would be impractical at a hub.
SkyAccess inventory for CYZD updates continuously as operators publish new empty legs and one-way repositioning trips. Pricing on each leg is available with a free account, and an inventory alert will email you the moment a leg appears on the route you care about.
Use this page to compare CYZD against nearby alternatives, browse live empty-leg pricing in both directions, and brief yourself on the runway and elevation profile before you book.
Downsview Airport, formerly IATA: YZD, ICAO: CYZD, is a defunct airport located in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. An air field, then air force base, it had been a testing facility for Bombardier Aerospace from 1994. In 2018, Bombardier sold the facility to Northcrest Developments, a wholly owned subsidiary of the Public Sector Pension Investment Board; in late 2023, Northcrest announced that industrial and airport operations would close by mid-2024, as redevelopment into commercial and residential properties moves forward. The airport was closed as of April 2024. On 17 August 2024, Northcrest Developments unveiled a new identity for the 1.5 km2 of the former Downsview Airport lands drawing on the site’s history: YZD, as the transformation kicks off.
