The Hawker 800 is a mid-size corporate aircraft developed from the British Aerospace BAe 25 by Hawker Beechcraft. The 125-800 series would become a sales success. It took nineteen years until the 500th BAe 125 airframe was sold, while in a little over five years British Aerospace were registering the 200th sale of the 800 series. In 1995 the Raytheon Aircraft Company began production of an upgraded version of the company's well-known Hawker 800 business jet, dubbed the Hawker 800XP. A variant of this was later developed, the Hawker 800XPi, and began production in 2005. The Hawker 800XPi is essentially the same as the Hawker 800XP, except it does not include winglets. Avionics and interior design, however, remains identical. The Hawker 800XPi possesses upgraded avionics, increased front and aft baggage volume and usability, user-friendly 15-inch LCD VIP touch screens, LED cabin lighting, FAA-approved cabinetry safety latches, flush-fitting galley doors with invisible hinges, newly-tailored cabin seats and divan, and an updated cabin management system. Thanks to its two TFE731-5BR engines offering 4,660 pounds of thrust, this aircraft is also capable of takeoffs and landings at much shorter runways, with a takeoff distance of 5,032 feet and landing distance of 3,803 feet. In the interior, the Hawker 800XPi usually seats eight people in a club configuration and three-person divan. Different cabin soundproofing options are available, but the cabin noise is minimal. The cockpit features GPS, High frequency communications, Ground Proximity Warning System, TCAS II, and dual autopilot. Production of the Hawker 800XPi ended in 2007, with a total of 51 aircraft being built.
