Flights are operated by certified charter operators

Every flight on SkyAccess is operated by an independent charter operator, not by SkyAccess.

Here is exactly how that works:

• SkyAccess is the marketplace and booking layer. We aggregate real-time empty leg inventory, display pricing, and process bookings.
• The charter operator is the flight provider. They own or lease the aircraft, employ the crew, maintain the aircraft, and hold the regulatory certifications required to conduct commercial charter flights.
• The traveler books through SkyAccess and flies with the operator.

SkyAccess does not employ pilots. SkyAccess does not own or maintain aircraft. SkyAccess does not hold an air carrier certificate. We are a technology marketplace, not an airline or charter broker in the traditional sense.

Charter operators on SkyAccess hold the commercial aviation certification applicable to their country of registration:

SkyAccess verifies the certification status of operators before they can list flights on the platform. U.S.-based flights are operated by FAA Part 135-certified operators. International flights are operated by operators holding the equivalent certification in their jurisdiction.

• Regulatory certification review — We confirm the operator holds the applicable air carrier certificate for their jurisdiction (FAA Part 135 for U.S. operators; equivalent for international operators).
• Insurance documentation — Operators provide proof of liability insurance coverage appropriate for commercial charter operations.
• Aircraft documentation — We review aircraft type and registration details to confirm the aircraft listed is a real, registered aircraft operated by that operator.
• Safety rating cross-reference — SkyAccess prioritizes operators that hold third-party safety ratings from ARGUS International, Wyvern, or IS-BAO, industry programs that audit operators independently of regulatory oversight. These ratings go beyond FAA requirements and assess maintenance records, crew training, and operational procedures.
• Ongoing account monitoring — Operator accounts are subject to ongoing review. If a certificate lapses, an operator loses the ability to list flights.

SkyAccess does not conduct its own safety audits or inspections. We cross-reference publicly available certification data and require documentation from operators as part of onboarding. The FAA, EASA, and equivalent authorities are the primary safety regulators for flights on our platform.

What empty legs are

An empty leg (also called a repositioning flight or deadhead) is a private jet flight that would otherwise operate with no passengers on board. Operators fly these routes to reposition aircraft after dropping off a charter customer or ahead of an upcoming booking. Rather than absorb the full cost of flying empty, operators list these flights at significant discounts on marketplaces like SkyAccess.

How pricing is set

Operators set their own prices. SkyAccess does not negotiate or set operator pricing. The price shown on SkyAccess reflects the operator's listing price for that specific flight.

Empty legs typically list at 25–75% below the standard full-charter rate for the same aircraft and route. A light jet empty leg on a U.S. domestic route commonly lists between $1,000 and $4,500 for the whole aircraft.

What is included in the price

SkyAccess displays all-in pricing. The price shown includes the operator's cost, applicable SkyAccess service fees, and standard ground and landing fees knowable at the time of listing. Prices are for the entire aircraft, not per passenger or per seat.

What may vary

Prices reflect the operator's current listing and can change before a booking is confirmed. Fuel surcharges, international handling fees, or other variable costs outside the standard all-in figure may be disclosed at booking. SkyAccess does not charge membership fees or annual dues.

No per-seat sales

SkyAccess does not sell individual seats. Every booking is for the whole aircraft. There is no shared-flight or seat-pooling product on the platform.

SkyAccess aggregates live empty leg listings from operators on the platform. Here is what “live” means in practice:

• Operators list flights directly on the SkyAccess platform as their schedule generates available repositioning routes.
• Listings reflect available flights at the time you are searching. Inventory is updated as operators add, modify, or remove flights.
• Because empty legs are repositioning flights tied to actual charter schedules, availability can change quickly. A flight listed today may fill or be modified by tomorrow.
• SkyAccess currently displays 5,000+ live empty leg listings at any given time, drawn from 900+ certified charter operators globally.

What happens after you book

After a traveler submits a booking through SkyAccess, the operator confirms the flight. Most bookings confirm within minutes to a few hours, though confirmation time depends on the operator. A booking is not guaranteed until the operator confirms and the booking is processed through SkyAccess.

• Departure times are typically fixed.Empty legs exist because the aircraft needs to reach a specific destination at a specific time. Departure times are usually set by the operator's schedule and are less flexible than full charters.
• Routes are dictated by operator repositioning needs.You cannot request a custom route on an empty leg. You are booking the aircraft's existing routing.
• Availability can change quickly. Because empty legs are tied to real charter schedules, they can be modified or pulled before you complete a booking.
• Cancellation terms vary by operator. Each operator sets their own cancellation and refund policy. Review these before completing a booking.
• Aircraft type may vary on confirmation. In some cases, an operator may substitute an aircraft of equivalent or higher class. Any substitution will be disclosed before you confirm.
• Empty legs are not guaranteed availability. If you need a private jet flight on a specific route with guaranteed availability, a standard full charter booking is more appropriate.
