Fort Worth Alliance Airport (KAFW) sits in Fort Worth, Texas, 14 miles north of downtown Fort Worth and 27 miles northwest of downtown Dallas. The field is one of the largest dedicated business and cargo airports in the United States — Alliance Airport was master-planned by Ross Perot Jr's Hillwood and is home to major Amazon and FedEx cargo operations, the BNSF intermodal facility, and substantial business-aviation traffic.

The two parallel runways (16L/34R 11,000 ft, 16R/34L 9,600 ft) handle every current business jet without restriction. The dominant operational considerations are Texas summer heat (highs above 100°F July–August affect ground operations), summer thunderstorms (April–October), and the overnight cargo rush from Amazon and FedEx. KAFW's structural advantage is north Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex geography — it's the closest field for operators in the north suburbs (Frisco, Plano, McKinney, Allen), and corporate flight departments in the Tom Thumb / Fossil Creek / Las Colinas area routinely use KAFW over KDFW. Ground time to downtown Fort Worth is 20–30 minutes; downtown Dallas is 35–50; Frisco is 15–20.
