Its single asphalt runway runs 5,597 ft (1,706 m) at 277 ft elevation, with no density-altitude concerns, and comfortably handles every current business jet up to large-cabin types such as the Bombardier Global 6000 and Gulfstream G550. Jersey is a British Crown Dependency, not part of the United Kingdom or the EU, and that status is what makes it one of Europe's busiest private-aviation corridors: there is no VAT on the Jersey segment of a private charter (UK VAT applies only to the UK leg), and a dense offshore-finance community books business jets week in, week out.

Three traveler profiles drive empty-leg demand at EGJJ.
