The Falcon 50 is a super-midsize, long-range business jet produced by Dassault Aviation in France. It was introduced to the market in 1976 and was succeeded by the Falcon 50EX in 1996. The Dassault Falcon 50EX brought improved engines and other enhancements, further extending the range of this already long-range jet.
The Dassault Falcon 50EX is powered by three AlliedSignal TFE 731-40 engines, each generating 3,704 pounds of thrust. These engines enhance the aircraft's performance, offering a higher climb rate, extended range, and better fuel efficiency. The Falcon 50EX has a maximum range of 3,350 nautical miles, a top speed of 481 knots, and a ceiling of 49,000 feet.
The cabin measures 23.5 feet in length, 6.1 feet in width, and 5.8 feet in height, providing a total volume of 700 cubic feet. These dimensions comfortably accommodate nine passengers, with a maximum seating configuration for twelve. The cabin features 14 windows for natural light and a temperature control system for optimal comfort. The baggage compartment can hold up to 16 bags.
The flight deck of the Dassault Falcon 50EX is equipped with the Collins Pro Line 4 avionics suite, featuring four screens that display organized flight information for pilots. Standard equipment includes a dual Pro Line II radio system, turbulence detection radar, and various flight control and environmental awareness systems.
Production of the Dassault Falcon 50EX ended in 2008, with a total of 100 aircraft built. The Falcon 50EX is popular among corporate and individual owners, as well as military operators from countries such as Bolivia, Bulgaria, Djibouti, France, Egypt, Iran, Italy, Jordan, Morocco, Serbia, and Venezuela. As of 2006, the unit price for this aircraft was $21.15 million.
