Airport guide
Friedman Memorial Airport (KSUN) sits in Hailey, Idaho, 11 miles south of Ketchum / Sun Valley. The single 7,550 ft runway handles every current business jet (heavier iron is at gross-weight limits — Sun Valley is one of the most demanding US mountain operations). Field elevation 5,318 ft, with year-round density-altitude considerations and structural mountain-wind exposure. KSUN is the structural Sun Valley ski / leisure gateway — Sun Valley Lodge, Limelight Hotel, plus the broader Ketchum luxury corridor. Heavy winter (Dec-Mar) + summer (Jul-Aug) peaks. Ground time to Sun Valley Lodge is 25 minutes; downtown Ketchum is 20.
