Airport guide
Akıncı Air Base (LTAE) is a medium airport in Ankara, Türkiye. It sits in Asia.
Akıncı Air Base is a regional airport primarily serving general aviation, charter, and corporate flight departments.
Akıncı Air Base lies at 2,767 ft elevation.
Local operations run on Europe/Istanbul. Without scheduled airline traffic, the field tends to be quieter and more flexible for charter and corporate operations — a useful characteristic for early morning, late night, or short-notice flights that would be impractical at a hub.
SkyAccess inventory for LTAE updates continuously as operators publish new empty legs and one-way repositioning trips. Pricing on each leg is available with a free account, and an inventory alert will email you the moment a leg appears on the route you care about.
Use this page to compare LTAE against nearby alternatives, browse live empty-leg pricing in both directions, and brief yourself on the runway and elevation profile before you book.
Background from Wikipedia
Mürted Airfield Command (Turkish: Mürted Hava Meydan Komutanlığı, formerly Mürted Air Base, Mürted Hava Üssü, Akıncı Air Base, Akıncı Hava Üssü, was an air base of the Turkish Air Force located 35 km northwest of Ankara, Turkey. During the July 2016 coup d'état attempt the air base was used by pro-coup soldiers, and government forces bombed runway thresholds to prevent pro-coup forces from landing or taking off. Following the failed coup, Akıncı Air Base was redesignated with its former name, Mürted, and it was suggested the facility be converted to a memorial or a park.
