Suvarnabhumi Airport (VTBS) sits 19 miles east of central Bangkok. Commercial service is dominant — VTBS is the principal Thai Airways and Bangkok Airways hub and one of the busier airports in Southeast Asia — and the field handles a meaningful flow of business aviation. For Bangkok-area private aviation, Don Mueang (VTBD, 12 miles north of central Bangkok) is the secondary commercial and business-aviation alternative; VTBS is typically the default for international VIP arrivals.

The two runways at VTBS (01L/19R 13,123 ft, 01R/19L 11,483 ft) handle every current business jet without restriction. Suvarnabhumi Airport is the main international airport serving Bangkok, the capital of Thailand. It is one of two airports serving Bangkok, the other being Don Mueang International Airport (DMK). Located mostly in Racha Thewa commune, Bang Phli district, Samut Prakan province, it covers an area of 3,520 ha, making it one of the biggest international airports in Southeast Asia, tenth biggest in the world and a regional hub for aviation.
