Nantucket Memorial Airport

Nantucket Memorial Airport (KACK) sits on Nantucket Island, Massachusetts, 30 miles south of Cape Cod and 90 miles southeast of Boston. The field handles substantial commercial service in summer (JetBlue, American, Delta, United Express, Cape Air seasonal) and one of the highest densities of summer-season UHNW private aviation in the United States. The Nantucket summer peak (Memorial Day through Labor Day) drives extraordinary ramp pressure — KACK can become the third or fourth busiest US airport by movement count on summer weekend afternoons. The two runways at KACK (6/24 6,303 ft, 15/33 3,996 ft) handle most current business jets up through super-midsize and many heavy operations on the longer 6/24; ultra-long-range jets with maximum payloads occasionally plan around runway length. Nantucket Memorial FBO and a couple of operator-specific handlers cover the ramp. Field elevation is 48 feet, no density-altitude concerns. The dominant operational considerations are summer thunderstorms and persistent coastal fog that can drive multi-hour ground holds and visual-only approaches (the field is fog-prone on summer mornings), plus the structural summer ramp pressure that requires advance FBO slot booking. Hurricane season (June through October) is the secondary weather risk. Ground time to downtown Nantucket is 5 minutes; the beaches are 5–15.
