Tobías Bolaños International Airport

Tobías Bolaños International Airport (MRPV) is a medium airport in San Jose, Costa Rica. Pilots and dispatchers reference it by ICAO code MRPV or IATA code SYQ. It sits in North America.

Tobías Bolaños International Airport is a regional commercial airport that doubles as a busy private-aviation base. Operators benefit from full instrument approaches and an FBO infrastructure scaled for regular jet traffic, often without the congestion of the nearest major hub.

Tobías Bolaños International Airport lies at 3,287 ft elevation.

Local operations run on America/Costa_Rica. Scheduled airline service is light enough that it rarely interferes with charter movements, though planners should still expect to coordinate with the handling agent for international turnarounds.

SkyAccess inventory for MRPV updates continuously as operators publish new empty legs and one-way repositioning trips. Pricing on each leg is available with a free account, and an inventory alert will email you the moment a leg appears on the route you care about.

Use this page to compare MRPV against nearby alternatives, browse live empty-leg pricing in both directions, and brief yourself on the runway and elevation profile before you book.

Tobías Bolaños International Airport is one of the four international airports in Costa Rica, and the secondary airport serving the city of San José, after Juan Santamaría International Airport. It is located in downtown San José, in Pavas District, San José Canton. The airport is named for Costa Rican pilot Tobias Bolaños Palma (1892-1953).
