The Dassault Falcon 2000 is a transcontinental twin-engine business jet manufactured by Dassault Aviation in France and introduced in 1995. As a member of the Dassault Falcon business jet line, the Falcon 2000 became one of the world’s most popular large cabin jets. The Dassault Falcon 2000EX, certified in 2003, retains the features that made the Falcon 2000 renowned, while introducing notable enhancements such as upgraded engines and cutting-edge avionics.
At its release, the Falcon 2000 boasted one of the longest ranges in its class, offering exceptional passenger comfort. Powered by two Pratt & Whitney PW308C engines, these variants are economical and offer even longer ranges than their predecessor with a fuel capacity that is 3,800 lbs. heavier. The 2000EX further extended its range to 3,878 nautical miles and achieved a high-speed cruise of 482 knots, allowing non-stop flights from London to Dubai and New York to Los Angeles. While the 2000EX is not certified for steep-approach airports like London City, later models such as the 2000S and 2000LXS can access central London airports.
The cockpit of the Dassault Falcon 2000EX is equipped with the Collins Pro Line 4 fully integrated avionics suite, a Honeywell EASy Avionics panel, an Allied Signal GNS-XES flight management system, a Collins TWR-850 Doppler weather radar, and a dual-channel Integrated Avionics Processor System. The advanced fault monitoring and digital diagnostic systems simplify troubleshooting for pilots and mechanics alike.
While very few Dassault Falcon 2000EXs are configured to carry 19 passengers, most are designed to accommodate between eight and 12 people, particularly for charter purposes. The interior baggage hold can store 12 suitcases, ensuring that each passenger can bring at least one item of luggage, with ample storage for hand luggage onboard.
The price of a 2005-2009 Dassault Falcon 2000EX EASy ranges from $9.5 to $12 million (USD), while earlier models, including the original 2000EX, cost between $6.5 and $8 million. Production ceased in 2009 after over 100 deliveries, as Dassault shifted focus to the upgraded and longer-range 2000LX. Variants of the model, include the Falcon 2000DX, 2000LX, and 2000LXS.
