Fort Lauderdale Executive Airport (KFXE) is the dedicated business-aviation airport for the South Florida coast, sitting six miles north of downtown Fort Lauderdale and providing a much quieter, faster-turn alternative to KFLL (commercial) or KMIA (international hub). For charter brokers, KFXE is the practical answer to Fort Lauderdale, Boca Raton, and the southern Palm Beach county market — close to the Intracoastal yachting community, the Las Olas corridor, and the corporate offices clustered along Cypress Creek Road. Runway 9/27 is 6,000 feet, which handles the majority of charter business jets up through super-midsize and many heavy operations, though Gulfstream G650 and Global 7500 operators with heavy payloads occasionally use KOPF or KPBI for longer takeoffs. Three FBOs (Banyan, Sheltair, and World Jet) split the ramp, with Banyan being one of the largest and most-recognized FBO operations on the East Coast. KFXE is also a major MRO and aircraft-sales hub — substantial used-bizjet inventory is based there. Field elevation is 13 feet, so density altitude is never a factor; the operational considerations are summer thunderstorms and hurricane season (June–November). Ground transport to Las Olas or the Intracoastal is 15–20 minutes; Boca Raton is 25–30 minutes.
