Miami-Opa Locka Executive Airport (KOPF) is the principal business-aviation airport for the Miami metro, sitting 10 miles north of downtown Miami in the Opa-Locka area. KMIA is one of the busiest commercial international hubs in the Americas and KFLL is also dominated by airline traffic, so KOPF is where the substantial private-aviation flow into Miami concentrates — particularly the international charters and tankering ops that need long runways and full CBP infrastructure. Runway 9L/27R is 8,002 feet and 12/30 is 8,001 feet, both supporting unrestricted operations for ultra-long-range jets including G650, Global 7500, and Falcon 8X. Three major FBOs (Signature, Atlantic, and Jet Aviation) operate at KOPF, with substantial international handling capability — CBP is on-field for direct international clearance without a diversion to KMIA. The airport sees significant demand around Art Basel Miami Beach in December, Miami Open tennis in March, the Miami International Boat Show, and the constant flow of South American and Caribbean charter traffic that uses KOPF as the Florida gateway. Field elevation is 8 feet; density altitude is never a factor. Ground time to South Beach is 25–35 minutes outside peak traffic; Brickell and Coconut Grove are 25–30 minutes.
